Sample Research Paper

Culture is set of different symbols, the way symbols carry different meaning to everyone and are intrinsically meaningless unless a human being gives importance and explanation to it a culture does the same.  Culture can be”understood as systems of symbols and meanings that even their creators contest, that lack fixed boundaries, that are constantly in flux, and that interact and compete with one another”.It covers all beliefs and activities that are not transmitted and not learned in most of the cases. The world is a set of different cultures and culture has been defined differently in every culture. Some anthropologists say that culture is merely a set of social behaviors and others think that artifacts, dance or music, theatre and fashion constitute culture. Culture has arrived from a Latin word which means ‘cultivate’ so in simple words cultivating belief or a practice helps it become a culture. (Douglas 2).  Culture, as defined by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), is, “the set of distinctive spiritual, material, intellectual and emotional features of society or a social group and that it encompasses in addition to art and literature, lifestyles, ways of living together, value systems, traditions, and beliefs.”
